Stanley Safari Lodge

Stanley Safari Lodge is set on a hill overlooking and the spray of the Victoria Falls is visible from the rooms. The lodge also borders Livingstone’s Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, and is 3 kilometres from the magnificent Zambezi River.

With only 10 cottages, the Lodge offers exclusivity, and an unmatched personalised service. Most of the accommodation (7units) is half open, allowing guests to experience the sights and the sounds of the bush in a unique way. The remaining 3 units are full enclosed. 4 of the Cottages also have a private plunge pool. All accommodation has mosquito netting. The cottages vary from double rooms to the honeymoon suite, which has its own fireplace and plunge pool. Each of the cottages is individually designed and decorated with local materials, making each one unique. You can also enjoy the use of a private garden, and private dining can be arranged at your cottage, in the wine cellar, or even in the infinity pool!

The main House is spacious, and allows for excellent views of the area. Here you can enjoy sundowners in the African style lounge, and European-style cuisine with an African twist in the dining room. You might also like to relax in the peace of the library or upper deck. The House is also half open, and gives a truly African feel, while the colonial closed suites with private plunge pool evoke the elegant era of Stanley and Livingstone.

You might also prefer to relax and sun-bathe at the swimming pool.

Tongabezi River Lodge

Tongabezi River Lodge  is a luxury lodge, some 15 kilometres from Victoria Falls on the banks of the Zambezi River.

Accommodation is in open-fronted houses (there are 5), or cottages (5 River, 1 Garden). Each unit has its own valet, to take care of guests, and who also acts as a private concierge.

Each house is unique, from the Honeymoon House, with its private balcony overlooking the River, to the Bird House with its sweeping views and open-air sunken bath. There is also the open-decked Tree House, and the Dog House, and the new Nut House, which is entirely enclosed, and boasts a private garden and infinity plunge pool.

In addition to the houses, there are five River Cottages, all of which overlook the banks of the Zambezi. Each has a large double bed or two singles, plus a mosquito net and en suite bath and shower. You also have an indoor and outdoor area for private dining, or to be used as somewhere to relax and enjoy the view. The Cottages are enclosed, and may be more suited for those who are not as happy with being in the open-fronted Houses.

There is also the Garden Cottage, which is ideal for a family or couple seeking luxury and privacy. The house is hidden behind a private walled garden, set back from the river, thus making it the only accommodation at Tongabezi that does not have a view of the Zambezi River. The cottage boasts 2 bedrooms, a private living room, with fireplace, and open-air sunken bath.

The main lodge area incorporates the central lounge, central lounge, bar and dining room, which are under thatch. In addition, there is a swimming pool which has been landscaped into the rock face. Meals are served in the large dining room or on the deck overlooking the river.

Tongabezi offers luxury and relaxations, but also an excellent range of activities which includes game drives, bush walks, sunrise and sunset boating trips. As there is no set pattern to your day, you be as active as you wish.

Zambezi Waterfront

The Zambezi Waterfront is situated on the Northern banks of the Zambezi River, approximately 4 km upstream from The Victoria Falls. The Zambezi waterfront caters for  travellers with camping and chalet accommodation.

This establishment is designed to attract the younger more adventurous traveller who wishes to experience the Great Zambezi River, the wonder of the Victoria Falls and its stunning surrounds, without great expense.

The complex boasts a well-serviced campsite set in cool, shady surroundings and caters for the overlanding, backpacking and self-drive market. The Zambezi Waterfront also has 16 standard twin chalets, six of which overlook the river. There are also three executive rooms and four family rooms.

There is a central dining complex with stunning views both up and down river. A raised wooden deck stretches out over the river with a unique plunge pool, an open bar and restaurant area, a reception area and a shop.

Thorntree River Lodge

Thorntree River Lodge is located in the Mosi Oa Tunya National Park, Thorntree River Lodge enjoys beautiful scenery, which includes the Zambezi River, and numerous sightings of wildlife.

Accommodation is in 9 suites, all with private decks, overlooking the River. The accommodation is spacious, and en suite (with separate bath and shower).

The main lodge area is the perfect place to relax, and to enjoy delicious meals, at a communal table – al fresco if possible. For those wishing for a quiet private dinner, this can also be arranged.

Your stay includes meals and an activity – you can choose from a game drive, sunset cruise, or tour of the Falls themselves. Thorntree River Lodge is also known for its Elephant back excursions – here you can discover the beauty of the area from a new perspective. There are excursions in the morning and afternoon, and not only do you get learn more about these magnificent creatures, but you get to see wildlife.

Sussi & Chuma

Sussi & Chuma – set in Livingstone’s Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, Sussi and Chuma offers luxurious accommodation in an idyllic setting. It is named for two of the explorer David Livingstone’s loyal companions.

Guests are accommodated in 12 luxury tree-houses at Sussi, with an additional 2 spacious two bed roomed houses (Chuma Houses), for exclusive use. The Lodge is built into a canopy of giant ebony trees, on the banks of the Zambezi River, and all accommodation is en suite, air-conditioned, and has private decks.

Each of the houses has 2 en-suite bedrooms:a double room with a bath and outdoor shower and a twin room with a bath and in-door shower, along with a spacious lounge and dining room area, kitchenette, outdoor veranda, barbeque area and private plunge pool. Guests have their own chef to cook all meals and a Guide, vehicle and boat for all activities.

The main lodge area houses a raised bar/lounge deck, open air dining area, and swimming pool sweeping down to the water’s edge. Meals are table d’hote with an excellent variety of dishes available, served alfresco, often around a roaring fire in the evening.

There are numerous activities to enjoy and experience, whilst staying at Sussi and Chuma. You can look forward to a guided tour of Victoria Falls and the rain forest on the Zambian Side and a visit to the Semonga Village. There are also game drives in the National Park, motorised boat safaris, sunset river cruises, and fishing on offer.

David Livingstone Safari Lodge

David Livingstone Safari Lodge is situated a mere 5 kilometres from the town of Livingstone, and 7 kilometres from the Victoria Falls, the David Livingstone Lodge and Spa is the newest property in Livingstone.

The Lodge is on the banks of the magnificent Zambezi River and boasts 77 en suite rooms (separate bath and shower), of which 5 are suites. All rooms have Satellite TV, mini-bar, tea/ coffee making facilities, internet connections, air-conditioning, and a private patio.

Guests can enjoy meals at the Kalai Restaurant – where dishes are contemporary mixes of International and African. Enjoy an interactive buffet, with fresh, aromatic and healthy choices.

The restaurant is in the main lodge area. There is also the Pool Deck, with its beautiful setting, where you can enjoy sun downers and snacks. The setting is on the River, and around the pool.

You might also prefer to enjoy dinner in your room. For relaxation there is an infinity swimming pool, and gym. The area offers an excellent variety of additional activities, whether it be fishing, cultural visits, or the more adventurous white water rafting, canoeing, and elephant back safaris.

There is also the Lodge’s own Lady Livingstone, a three-decker river cruiser – excellent for game viewing from the River, and for sunset cruises. The lodge also had a Nature Centre, with resident guide.

David Livingstone Safari Lodge is also home to the Camelot Spa, where you indulge in a variety of variety of beauty therapies and treatments, ranging from intensive sports therapies to mud wraps, facials and manicures.
