Little Gorges Tented Camp

Little Gorges Tented Camp, perched on the edge of the Batoka Gorge, with awesome views of the Zambezi River 250 metres below, and across into Zambia, Little Gorges is the latest addition to Imvelo Safari Lodges’ portfolio of spectacular, remote and exclusive destinations. Little gorges is an extension of Gorges Lodge.

Little Gorges overlooks the dramatic junction of the Dibu Dibu River and the Zambezi, where black eagles and lanner falcons nest in the sheer cliff faces.

Little Gorges has five tented bedrooms and a stone-under-thatch central dining and entertainment area where guests can relax with a cold drink from the bar. Guests can also make use of the swimming pool and WiFi at the main Gorges Lodge.

The bedrooms are under canvas on platforms made from steel with a wooden deck. Bedrooms are spacious with 60 square metres of living and veranda space. Bathrooms are cut back into the terrain, constructed from brick under canvas. Four rooms have twin double beds and the fifth a king bed, under mosquito nets, with mini bar fridge, fans, hairdryers and all the other amenities currently offered at Gorges Lodge.
The bathrooms have a spacious shower, twin basins and separate toilet. Furnishings maximise use of local materials, including the splendid deep red wood of the indigenous Zambezi teak.

Little Gorges is a 30 minute transfer by road from Victoria Falls town, with all its attractions of shopping, restaurants and activities, as well as the Falls themselves – a walk through the rain forest is an essential experience for every visitor!

Stanley Safari Lodge

Stanley Safari Lodge is set on a hill overlooking and the spray of the Victoria Falls is visible from the rooms. The lodge also borders Livingstone’s Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, and is 3 kilometres from the magnificent Zambezi River.

With only 10 cottages, the Lodge offers exclusivity, and an unmatched personalised service. Most of the accommodation (7units) is half open, allowing guests to experience the sights and the sounds of the bush in a unique way. The remaining 3 units are full enclosed. 4 of the Cottages also have a private plunge pool. All accommodation has mosquito netting. The main House is spacious, and allows for excellent views of the area. Here you can enjoy sundowners in the African style lounge, and European-style cuisine with an African twist in the dining room. You might also like to relax in the peace of the library or upper deck. The House is also half open, and gives a truly African feel, while the colonial closed suites with private plunge pool evoke the elegant era of Stanley and Livingstone.

You might also prefer to relax and sun-bathe at the swimming pool.

Stanley Safari Lodge is the perfect base from which to explore – and there is a diverse choice of activities, from river rafting and bungee jumping to sunset cruises, and elephant back rides.

Tongabezi River Lodge

Tongabezi River Lodge  is a luxury lodge, some 15 kilometres from Victoria Falls on the banks of the Zambezi River.

Accommodation is in open-fronted houses (there are 5), or cottages (5 River, 1 Garden). Each unit has its own valet, to take care of guests, and who also acts as a private concierge.

Each house is unique, from the Honeymoon House, with its private balcony overlooking the River, to the Bird House with its sweeping views and open-air sunken bath. There is also the open-decked Tree House, and the Dog House, and the new Nut House, which is entirely enclosed, and boasts a private garden and infinity plunge pool.

In addition to the houses, there are five River Cottages, all of which overlook the banks of the Zambezi. Each has a large double bed or two singles, plus a mosquito net and en suite bath and shower. You also have an indoor and outdoor area for private dining, or to be used as somewhere to relax and enjoy the view. The Cottages are enclosed, and may be more suited for those who are not as happy with being in the open-fronted Houses.

There is also the Garden Cottage, which is ideal for a family or couple seeking luxury and privacy. The house is hidden behind a private walled garden, set back from the river, thus making it the only accommodation at Tongabezi that does not have a view of the Zambezi River. The cottage boasts 2 bedrooms, a private living room, with fireplace, and open-air sunken bath.

The main lodge area incorporates the central lounge, central lounge, bar and dining room, which are under thatch. In addition, there is a swimming pool which has been landscaped into the rock face. Meals are served in the large dining room or on the deck overlooking the river.

Tongabezi offers luxury and relaxations, but also an excellent range of activities which includes game drives, bush walks, sunrise and sunset boating trips. As there is no set pattern to your day, you be as active as you wish.

Zambezi Waterfront

The Zambezi Waterfront is situated on the Northern banks of the Zambezi River, approximately 4 km upstream from The Victoria Falls. The Zambezi waterfront caters for  travellers with camping and chalet accommodation.

This establishment is designed to attract the younger more adventurous traveller who wishes to experience the Great Zambezi River, the wonder of the Victoria Falls and its stunning surrounds, without great expense.

The complex boasts a well-serviced campsite set in cool, shady surroundings and caters for the overlanding, backpacking and self-drive market. The Zambezi Waterfront also has 16 standard twin chalets, six of which overlook the river. There are also three executive rooms and four family rooms.

There is a central dining complex with stunning views both up and down river. A raised wooden deck stretches out over the river with a unique plunge pool, an open bar and restaurant area, a reception area and a shop.

Thorntree River Lodge

Thorntree River Lodge is located in the Mosi Oa Tunya National Park, Thorntree River Lodge enjoys beautiful scenery, which includes the Zambezi River, and numerous sightings of wildlife.

Accommodation is in 9 suites, all with private decks, overlooking the River. The accommodation is spacious, and en suite (with separate bath and shower).
